HUNTINGTON -- Huntington City Mission is planning its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner, served from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26.
This year, the mission is asking for extra support because the need is greater.
Last year's dinner included 40 baked turkeys, hundreds of pounds of potatoes and other vegetables, plus home-prepared desserts. This year, based on the current number of individuals served, more will be needed.
Shoney's of Huntington offered to donate strawberry pie, and Pea Ridge Baptist Youths will design place mats. Other individuals or organizations such as schools, churches or businesses can help as well. Turkeys and food drives are needed, but the mission welcomes other ideas that would embellish the holiday meal.
Anyone wishing to help can call Lynn Clagg at 304-523-0293, Ext. 320.
